Booking Terms & Conditions

Smoking - In accordance with Scottish legislation, the Castle is completely non-smoking.

Single occupancy - Standard room will be charged at deluxe room rate, please add £50.00 in a deluxe room.

Long stays - Please ask us for rates for stays longer than 5 nights.

Children - Children under the age of 2 are accommodated free of charge and you will only be charged for their food. Children aged between 2 and 12 are charged £45.00 per night and between 13 and 16 £60.00 per night, both rates including bed and breakfast. The above prices are based on children sharing a room with 2 adults. We offer children's menus but we do not allow children under the age of 5 in the restaurant or library bar in the evening. Please note that we do not allow children or babies to stay in the Romantic Suites.

Dogs - We welcome well behaved dogs but we do not permit them in the public areas of the hotel. There is a charge of £10.00 per dog per night. There is no charge for guide dogs. Please note that we do not allow dogs in the Romantic Suites.

Bookings - To make your reservation simply telephone, fax or email us. We are happy to accept your credit card number to confirm the booking. We welcome Visa, Access and Mastercard but do not accept Diners or American Express.

Deposits - All bookings will require a deposit in order for it to be confirmed. Please see our deposit summary listed below:

  • If you are unable to secure your reservation with a Vaid credit or debit card then full prepayment of your accommodation will be required in addition to a security deposit of £200.00
  • All standard, deluxe and four poster room reservations will require a deposit of £25.00 per person. This deposit is fully refundable as long as you cancel outwith 7 days of your scheduled arrival date. Please refer to our cancellation policy below.
  • Romantic Suites will require a total deposit of £50.00 per person. This deposit will be non refundable if you should cancel your reservation within 1 month arriving at the hotel.
  • For a booking of 5 or more nights a deposit of £50.00 per person is required. 50% of the booking is then required to be paid 4 weeks prior to arrival at the hotel.
  • If three or more rooms are reserved then a deposit of £50.00 per person is required. The full accommodation charge needs to be paid 4 weeks prior to arrival at the hotel.

Please note that unless otherwise stated, all deposits are strictly non refundable from the time that they are paid, in the event of a cancellation. The normal cancellation procedures will also apply (see below).

Cancellation - Bookings cancelled within 7 days of arrival will be liable to a cancellation charge equivalent to the first nights stay if we are unable to re-let the room. Different cancellation terms apply to private functions and bookings for more than three rooms and over Christmas and New Year. Cancellation insurance is available. Please ask for details.
