Castle Venlaw Hotel, in the beautiful Scottish Borders, Scotland is an ideal venue for your wedding. At Castle Venlaw we can host both civil wedding ceremonies and religious wedding ceremonies. The choice is entirely yours!

You are able to get married in a local church should you wish to hold a religious ceremony outside of the Castle, or indeed we can arrange for a minister to marry you here. For civil ceremonies, again, we can organise for a Registrar to marry you either in the hotel or within our beautiful grounds. Whatever you choose, we know that it will be special and unique to you.

There is something so romantic about a wedding in a Scottish Castle. Whether you decide to opt for either a religious or civil wedding ceremony, our wedding coordinators are on hand to help you organise everything.

Many brides and grooms tell us they do not want a registry office wedding. This is usually because they have an impression that the registry office venue will be housed in an unpleasant civic building, will have stark "council type" furniture, the registrar will be rushing the wedding through complete with his plastic carnation and that you will have to queue outside the office and wait your turn. That's not what happens in Peebles!

The registry office in Peebles is set in the most historic part of the town in the old quadrangle off the High Street. It is quiet, peaceful and free from cars. The venue in which you will be married is a beautiful oak panelled room and the antique furniture matches the walls. You will not be in a queue or "processed"

You can be married either in the Leckie Memorial Church of Scotland, or St Peters Episcopalian Church (the Episcopalian church is very similar to the Church of England). Both churches are fairly small, very friendly and are lovely venues in which to be married. The ministers in both churches are friendly and will help make your day a great success. Arrangements can also be made for weddings at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church
